“What the heck is Functional Medicine Health Coaching?”
I get that question all the time. The short answer? It’s where life coaching meets health coaching to help you build a strong foundation of health and total life balance.
We go beyond quick fixes to uncover what’s really driving your symptoms, then create a personalized plan around sleep, nutrition, movement, stress, and mindset. It’s about supporting your body and your life - so you can feel better, age well, and live with intention. It is amazing what happens when we blend the science of health coaching with the clarity and strategy of life coaching! So many of my clients comment on how their entire lives improved after our sessions, because we didn’t address their health in a “silo” - instead, we looked at the BIG picture!
Education: Understand the why behind how your body works, and your symptoms
Identify the triggers, circumstances, and patterns that affect your health
Take realistic, sustainable action toward better energy, sleep, mood, and more - without the overwhelm
Address physical health, nutrition, movement, career, hobbies / Interests, relationships, finances, environment, and more… for your TOTAL well-being.
Want to take a step on your own? Here’s a quick tip you can use anytime you feel “off” and are looking for balance.
✅ Step 1: Name What You Need
Know that your body is your friend, and it is always looking for healing and balance. So, if you feel “off”, pause and ask yourself:
“What do I need right now?”
That could be calm, energy, clarity, connection, nutrition, hydration, or movement.
Naming the need sets your intention and guides your next step.
✅ Step 2: Pick One “Mini-Reset”
Choose just one (5 minutes max):
Breathe deeply: Try a vagus nerve stimulating breathing technique (inhale 5, hold 4, exhale 7)
Move your body: Gentle stretching, a short walk, or dancing to one song
Go outside: Fresh air and natural light are underrated medicine (in other countries, doctors prescribe this!)
Brain dump: Write down everything swirling in your head - no filter - go for it!
Hydrate: Drink a full glass of water with a pinch of sea salt
Gratitude shift: Write down 3 things that are going right today
This small, consistent reset lowers stress hormones, improves focus, and builds resilience.
✅ Step 3: Repeat as Needed
This isn’t a one-time fix, it’s about creating a rhythm and building trust with yourself over time.
When you know you can pause and reset - even briefly - it creates momentum for bigger change.
